Default Last Day Dawns

Does anyone has a working strategy to tackle this quest? Been trying it the past 2 days and I just can't do it.

Sadly, the quest isn't hard, it's impossible by conventional methods, as such people will have to resort to exploits to beat it.

Bringing a monk with UA doesn't work anymore, and neither does sending in heroes to aggro them before this Alderbern suicides in there.

Going the long route (all the way around) still works, but once you arrive there you'll find that 2 groups have clumped together and can not be aggrod without sending Aldernbern in.

I've tried all kinds of builds and methods, but none seem to work. What I have found is (And this is why this quest isn't hard, just luck based), is that your chances of succeeding rest purely on the first spawn of charr the king and his group run too. If they contain more than 1 Avenger or fire ele, you can already resign out because his intire group will die before you can even reach him.

I know several people already did this quest. How did you do it?

If we're talking about the new super one...

I did it with an ST an SoS and a Stolen Speed mesmer. Once you see a radar ping for an incoming group micro the SoS so their spirits are producing a block and concentrating aggro (and that dumb Titan monster skill). Make sure you are wearing your title and EVAS is excellent here. It also helps to keep an eye on the ST and manually drop those before fights out of range so you don't lose people on initial aggro.

Re: the Adelbern thing, once you see his group show up in the party window as allies drop what you are doing and follow them. You should only lose his guards and they suck anyways. Greywind is far far worse by the way...if he happens to wander into Wild Growth mega traps before you set them off yourself somehow it's game over.

I did similarly, except with an MM instead of the stolen speed mesmer. +25 damage per hit from EBSoH is just ridiculous...

If you are a physical, Rebel Yell should easily let you keep SY up. Since 95% of their damage is armor respecting you shouldn't have too many problems, while the ST keeps the king and his NPCs from getting rocked.

Most casters are probably best off abusing AP + PvE skills (especially EVAS, as has been mentioned), though I'm sure mesmer primary builds and E/mos can be of comparable usefulness.

Also Rangers are RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOed

I used:
Rt/any SoS with Pain Inverter
Rt/N Shelter Hero with 1 curses skill (some ench removal)
Rt/any Communing Hero
N/Rt Preservation healer Hero

Spirits are good.

Just did it with a nice human mesmer I met in the frontier gate. I was the er emo healer, she was keystone sig mesmer with your usual two ritualist spirit spammers. People never died unless someone got their prot bond removed which usually meant instakill. Took us a few tries to get lucky enough and beat this.

So much for being a top-tier GvG and HA player ... relative to the toughest quests in Guild Wars, this isn't even hard. Conventional methods clear this easy. Those Charr have no heals bar the last wave, which has one Monk so easily spiked out.

Protip: if you can't do this with conventional methods, use consumables.

PS: Look at the allies screen lol. "Adelberns Priest". Good English haha.
